Maybe it’s because I am up against a self-imposed deadline to get my column out every month. Maybe it’s sleep deprivation from having a nearly one-year-old child. Maybe I’m just a bitter old man, but it feels like everything that I love (in the entertainment realm) is coming to an end this year.
Tom and Hobby Box Burns discuss their recent adventures at gaming conventions. Joey traveled to AdeptiCon and played very poorly in a Warhammer tournament. Then the guys traveled to Milwaukee together for the Midwest Gaming Classic.

The official summer blockbuster to end all blockbusters is here, as Avengers: Endgame opened this week. Just a touch under under 11 years ago, Iron Man started Robert Downey Jr. and Marvel down a path to this (inevitable) conclusion. The movie effectively closes the doors to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it, while setting the stage for a host of future adventures.
The Midwest Gaming Classic is a trade show with over 150,000 square feet of home video game consoles, pinball machines, arcade cabinets, computers and other games. It has a heavy focus on retro gaming, and Tom and Joey hit the road to see if old games are still fun.
For most of my life, I’ve had a fear/general distaste about using public restrooms to drop a deuce. I mean, sometimes it’s unavoidable, but if there is any foreseeable way for me to capture home field advantage, I am capable of holding my bowels for long periods of time. My dad and brother will probably never let go of the fact that I once drove 20 minutes to a casino for a bathroom break when we were ice fishing.
