Tom’s Triumphs – They Call it Fishing, Not Catching

One of my favorite things in the world is boating. I love being on the water. I love feeling the wind and the waves as we zip from place to place, and the freedom and adventure that come along with it.

Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to share that joy with my daughter for the first time. My little flower did great, she explored the boat, threw some sticks in the water an continually crabbed about how bulky her little life jacket is.

Tom’s Triumphs – Everything Good Comes to an End

Maybe it’s because I am up against a self-imposed deadline to get my column out every month. Maybe it’s sleep deprivation from having a nearly one-year-old child. Maybe I’m just a bitter old man, but it feels like everything  that I love (in the entertainment realm) is coming to an end this year.

Tom’s Triumphs – Shoveling a Load of….Fun

Sesame Street Parody: Game of Chairs

I remember when I was a young lad working at Barnes & Noble in college, and all of my co-workers were atwitter about this dark new fantasy book: A Game of Thrones. It took me a couple years to buy in, and then I started advocating the series to my friends.

I never imagined what a cultural phenomena it would become. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any bigger, our most beloved childhood icons produced this outstanding parody. Enjoy!
