Outside is Overrated

Why go outside with the zombies, sharks and bugs?

Tom’s Triumphs -Surviving 15,000 Sweaty Women on the Backstreet

I have never been much of a concert-goer. To me, I’ve always looked at the cost of the ticket and compared it to a video game – and the game has always won. And when you break it down to taco terms, a video game is 120 tacos. And I love tacos. My wife, however, loves concerts and has a big thing for the Backstreet Boys.

So what do you do for the woman of your dreams for her first Mother’s Day? You get her floor seats for the Backstreet Boys, and sit back and enjoy the ride.

Review: Spider-Man Far From Home

Tom Awesome’s Review Score: 9.5

Spider-Man Far From Home takes us on an adventure to Europe with the titular web-slinger to deal with an Avengers-level threat. Ironically, Peter Parker has been much further from home in his brief career – you know, like, SPACE. Naming conventions aside, I am an unabashed webhead and I’m always up for a new Spider-Man movie.

Tom’s Triumphs – Beating the Best of 2018

Hello, I’m new here.

My name is Tom, and I have a full-time job, a baby, an amazing wife, a gaming website and a podcast. I have decided to write a recurring column, so uh, here we are. 2018 in Review – Babies Are a Lot of Work

Gaming has been a personal passion since the first time I saw an arcade in a mall. I have owned every major console released since the Sega Genesis, with the exception of the original XBox. For me, a Saturday spent playing video or board games with my wife or a few close friends would always be more appealing than a night out. Gaming is, and always will be a part of me.

So what happens when a hardcore gamer brings life into the world? Would my gaming self cease to exist, buried in a cavalcade of dirty cloth diapers? Would the world be forced to evolve without my tsunami of treachery and weiner jokes?

PlayStation Live Media Showcase – E3 2018

When you’re the top dog, it can be easy to become complacent. This generation, PlayStation has been soaring off of one of the greatest conferences in history during E3 2013 when they announced the PlayStation 4 (PS4).  Since then, they’ve had many solid performances as well as a couple of killer, crowd pleasing conferences at E3 2015 and 2016.

Now, Sony is coming off of the successful releases of multiple long-gestating exclusive games, and has at least four more big-guns in the hopper. But, what can they do to keep that momentum going? Continue reading “PlayStation Live Media Showcase – E3 2018”

Review: Spider-Man Homecoming

Tom Awesome’s Review Score: 8.5

I am an unabashed Spider-Fan. I own no fewer than six Spidey shirts, and at last count I have 23 collections of Peter Parker’s finest tales – not including any of the exclusive Venom sets. I had reservations going into Spider-Man Homecoming, and I am pleased to report that it was pretty good.

Have You Seen The Waiting Room?

The Waiting Room is an awkward comedy about what happens when super people end up sitting in the waiting room together. It turns out, you and I aren’t the only ones with less-than-admiral smalltalk skills!
